In the Kingdom of Oru, L'ore is a prisoner . . .

Her deadly secret has been discovered - the icy shadow magic she possesses instead of the sun power of her people. The secret that makes her an enemy of this world.

Alongside fellow outlaw Remi, L'ore awaits her fate. Until they are surprised by a band of Sand Raiders from the western lands - and Remi reveals himself to be their long lost prince. The pair find themselves journeying to the Sand Raider Kingdom - Remi to the throne and L'ore in chains.

Far from home, and betrayed by Alawani, the boy she loved still in Oru, L'ore faces her gravest danger yet. But then, Remi suggests an arrangement to grant her freedom. An engagement she never expected - that will lead her heart in a direction she could not have foreseen.

L'ore holds the strength to bring down an empire - but will she have the courage to follow the twists of her heart?
